Historical review
Historical
review
The Salesiana community “daughter of Maria Auxiliadora” for 50 years had
been developing a work of service and total disposition for the community of
Pamplona. After they started the work had been developed looking for the
benefice of families as a central part of the society.
Pamplona women studied thought workshops such as: hand-crafting and cook
because this could increase the opportunities of a better nutrition and also
receive and extra money to supply other necessities; all those things inspired
by Mother Margarita in the Don Bosco chapel, priest funder of the community.
Later on, the work was focused on under-resourced girls and boys,
looking for governments’ alliances, putting together the Institute of the
sisters with the school Agueda, creating a new one, called Integrated School.
After come years, it became Education Institution Agueda Gallardo of
Villamizar in honor to the powerful heroin who gave the shout of independence
in our city. Today, in the school the service is offer from preschooler to
eleven grades.
Now a days, the principal office of the institution is located in
Pamplona city, North of Santander in the Salesiano neighborhood, precisely in
the street 9 N° 9-103, on the other hand, EL Escorial 11
8c-55 Afanador neighborhood, where we can find preschooler and primary.
Justification
This project aims
to implement ludic activities such as poetry, storytelling, tongue twisters,
songs in primary grades, since children are not very attached to the English
language, it is necessary to motivate them with new technological resources to
generate love for the language and that they learn while having fun at the same
time because they come from a classical teaching method in which students only
write vocabulary of the language or planes when they forget a word in English.
Finally, this
project will mainly help students and teachers who will be able to make a good
use of new technological resources while the students will learn English
vocabulary and phrases through ludic activities that will be implemented in the
classroom. Therefore, the students will be encouraged since they will be able
to overcome the deficiencies that have occurred throughout the learning process
with regard to the English area. In the same way, as a teacher in preparation
we will have the opportunity to have a significant experience in a real
educational context where it will be applied into practice.
Introduction
Long ago teaching
English as a foreign language has become a mandatory subject in Colombian
schools because of education policy decision. That’s why it is necessary to
implement new strategies when teaching in order to motivate students to learn
interactively a foreign language.
Nevertheless,
sometimes teaching English is a boring issue in the schools due to lack of
motivation of the students or some teachers are not able to teach this language
because they didn’t study it. In this way, this project describes an approach
with a population of primary students in the ‘’Institución Educativa El
Escorial’’ with the purpose of implement new methods in order to teach English
vocabulary through interactive activities that usually children like to do such
as: poems, storytelling, tongue twister.
